Michael Barbato ('94) was one of those remarkable people whose impact on the Kingdom was deeply profound despite an all-too-short life. It was while a student at Messiah College that Michael committed all areas of his life to the glory of the Lordship of Jesus Christ. He also sought to use his passion for the outdoors and for God's creation to further the message of the Gospel. He was a visionary building the now thriving Pisgah Program at Geneva College with little more than some outdoor gear and a heart for students. He was a devoted father and husband to his family. He was a faithful and earnest follower and servant of Jesus Christ. The Michael P. Barbato Legacy Scholarship Fund established in his memory provides funding for attendance at adventure retreats, activities, conferences, or similar excursions that encourage spiritual formation
